Waterbury Police Activity League

The Waterbury Police Activity League (PAL) is a not for profit organization which promotes partnerships between youth, law enforcement, and the community through educational, athletic, and recreational programs designed to encourage team building and foster positive relationships. This is done through programs that emphasize education and learning, as well as participation in sports and activities. The goal of PAL is to enable all young people, regardless of race, religion, income or handicap to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

Waterbury PAL offers athletic, educational and recreational activities to youth ages 4 to 17 years old from the Greater Waterbury area including Boxing, Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, Flag Football, Cheerleading, Chorus, Youth Employment opportunities, Summer Camp, Homework Help, Swimming. The Waterbury PAL office is located at 64 Division St and is open Monday to Friday from 930am to 430pm. Waterbury Police Explorers

The primary mission of Waterbury Police Explorers is to expose young adults between the ages of 11 and 21 to the field of law enforcement. The program will do the following:

  • give insight into police work
  • provide a positive alternative to negative influences
  • develop responsible youth
  • encourage academic excellence and leadership
  • teamwork and volunteerism
  • give insight into police work
  • give insight into police work

Participants will work with both civilians and sworn officers of the Waterbury Police Department. The program is designed to give them a realistic overview of law enforcement so that they can make an informed decision as to whether or not they want to pursue law enforcement as a career. Explorers will be given both classroom instruction and be required to participate in physical exercises. Qualified personnel will give all instruction in a strictly controlled environment. Waterbury Crime Stoppers

Waterbury Crime Stoppers pays CASH to anonymous callers who provide information leading to an arrest. The most important part of the Crime Stoppers Program is that it is ANONYMOUS. You will never be asked for your name or any identifying information. If you see a crime in your neighborhood call 203-755-1234, if your tip leadds to an arrest, you could receive up to $1000 cash.

For example: If you see a person in your neighborhood selling drugs, you can call 203-755-1234, and report as much information as possible. The information will be investigated and if it leads to an arrest, then you may be eligible for a reward at the next Waterbury Crime Stoppers monthly meeting. You may call again to find out whether or not your information led to a reward, and where you can obtain your reward.

Helpful information you can provide:

  • License plate numbers
  • Make, model and color of vehicles
  • Address/location where the crime took place
  • Date & time when the crime occurred
  • Age, gender, approximate height & weight of perpetrator
  • Exact nature of crime (burglary, drugs, illegal dumping, graffitti)
