Waterbury police conducted their second reverse prostitution sting in a month in the Hillside neighborhood.

Friday night into Saturday morning, two female officers posed as prostitutes in Hillside which has the reputation as the spot to pick up prostitutes.

The sting nabbed 39 men, including 11 from out of town, one teenager and two New York residents. All of the men were charged with soliciting a prostitute from a motor vehicle. And all of their cars were towed and impounded.

Last month, 27 men and one woman were arrested in a similar undercover sting.

Police spokesman Lt. Christopher Corbett said there will be more stings.

"We will continue to strictly enforce prostitution laws in Waterbury, not just going after the prostitutes themselves, but the men who solicit them," Corbett said Saturday.

Waterbury police are searching for a man they say exposed himself to three young girls and tried to convince a fourth to enter his car.

Edgardo Lopez, 29, of 45 Bergin Circle, faces a slew of charges stemming from four separate incidents.

Last Friday, a 10-year-old girl was walking on Radcliffe Avenue in the city's East End when a man in a dark-colored car called to her. The girl, a student at nearby Chase School, walked to the car, where police say the man exposed himself to her.

The next day, police said, the same man in the same car was on Overton Avenue, also in the city's East End, when he tried to convince another 10-year-old girl to get in his car. The girl refused.

This week, detectives in unmarked cars conducted surveillance near Chase School.
