Ensuring Access to Information with Speed and Integrity
The Records Division is the central resource for managing documentation, transparency, and public information within the Waterbury Police Department. From firearm permits to Freedom of Information requests, the division processes and distributes a wide range of official records for citizens, businesses, and law enforcement partners—ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
Firearms & Public Records
The Records Division processes pistol permit applications, handgun registrations, and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. These services ensure residents have access to the documentation they need in a manner that aligns with public safety and state regulations.
Incident & Accident Reports
Our team manages the intake, processing, and public release of all incident and motor vehicle accident reports. These records are available to the public, outside agencies, attorneys, and department personnel.
