ARREST FOLLOWING INVESTIGATION OF QUALITYH-OF-LIFE COMPLAINTS

On December 17, 2025, officers assigned to the Crime Prevention Unit were actively patrolling the area of 770 East Main Street due to numerous complaints related to quality-of-life issues, including trespassing, individuals loitering in hallways, and suspected drug activity involving non-residents.

While on scene, officers made contact with an individual later identified as Manuel Lopez-Diaz, age 47, of Waterbury, who was determined not to be a tenant of the building. During the investigation, Lopez-Diaz interfered with officers and provided false identifying information. Further investigation revealed that Lopez-Diaz had an active warrant out of Bridgeport for Violation of Probation. During the investigation, the following items were seized:

Crack Cocaine
$130.00 U.S Currency

Manuel was arrested and additionally charged with the following offenses:
Interfering with an Officer
Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell
