WATERBURY POLICE TRAFFIC SERVICES UNIT RECOVERS STOLEN VEHICLE
On February 3, 2026, officers from the Waterbury Police Department’s Traffic Services Unit were proactively patrolling the area of South Main Street and East Liberty Street. During this time, officers observed a red 2015 Honda Accord EX parked in the parking lot of 550 South Main Street (South Main Tire Shop) that had been reported stolen out of New Haven, Connecticut.
Officers approached the vehicle and observed a female, later identified as Jamaya Torres,21, of Waterbury, standing outside of the vehicle while a tire was being repaired. The operator of the vehicle, later identified as Henry Torres,25, of Waterbury fled on foot into the tire shop. Officers located Henry Torres hiding behind a stack of tires inside the tire shop and took him into custody without incident.
Henry was charged with the following offenses:
- Interfering with an Officer
- Larceny of a Motor Vehicle (2nd Offense)
Jamaya was charged with Larceny of a Motor Vehicle (1st Offense). There is no photo available at this time.
